Florida deep sea fishing

Big Game fishing off Florida's west coast is awesome. Few people ever get the chance to experience it, due to the distance offshore. You have to travel over 100 miles to get to the loop of the gulf stream, however once you do, it is some of the most productive blue water fishing in North America! Blue marlin, sailfish, tuna, dolphin, wahoo and more. Daisy Mae was designed and built specifically for this type of fishing. We have air-conditioning, hot shower, comfortable bunks, extra large fuel and water tanks to accommodate longer trips offshore. One of our popular trips is a fishing vacation from Clearwater to Key West and back. We go out past the 300 Fathom curve (it is here we are fishing in depths of over 10,000 ft.) and follow it down past Dry Tortugas and into Key West. See Chart! This trip requires seven days and the cost is 1200.00 per day plus expenses (fuel+ slip in Key West, Ect.) .

The trip is a remarkable experience, it is like another world out there. We often spot large schools of yellow fin tuna jumping and grey hounding. Pilot Whales are common and free jumping sailfish and marlin are often spotted. This little guy is not a good representation of the norm. Most tuna we catch go well over 100 Lbs. This yellow fin weighted in at 41 Lbs.

Here is the catch from one of our Key West fishing vacations. You will notice lots of big mahi-mahi and wahoo. We even had time for a little Grouper fishing on the way back!

This is a three day trip we took in July, 2000. dolphin, wahoo and swordfish. The Angler in this photo (you will notice wearing the red cap) has taken a super slam in her fishing career. That is a sail, marlin, and sword. Nice job Sara!

This Mako shark is a fierce competitor on a conventional rod and reel. This shark hit a marlin lure fished in the wash.
There are lots of quality sails in the loop. I have seen 20 or 30 free jumping at once. What a thrill that is! Sailfish MPEG Sailfish2 MPEG
This sail took second place in the West Coast Classic Billfish tourney in "98". It missed first place by inches. That was the last kill tourney on the west coast. They are now all release tourneys. We support Billfish release!
